Associated Recyclers of Wisconsin (AROW) is excited to announce an upcoming free webinar, open to all interested entities in the US, on Wednesday, October 5th at 9:00 a.m. (CT) regarding the Natural Resources Defense Council’s (NRDC) “Save The Food” campaign.  The NRDC recently launched the “Save The Food” campaign in partnership with the Ad Council to raise awareness about food waste across the U.S.

"Save The Food" is the first-ever national public service campaign to combat food waste from its largest source – consumers, who collectively waste more food than grocery stores, restaurants or farms. The initiative hopes to encourage consumers to reduce the amount of food they trash in their homes, thereby saving the water, energy and money that are lost along with it.

On average, the Ad Council garners about $90 million in donated media for a 3-year campaign. The cost to NRDC for this will be $3.2 million over three years, making it roughly a 30x return on investment. With partnerships, we hope to extend the reach of the campaign and further reduce food waste in the U.S.

To explore how you can participate in this national campaign, please join us!  The 1-hour webinar is open to all interested entities throughout the U.S.  AROW’s Organics and Food Residual Management Advisory Committee is proud to be the webinar’s organizers and hosts.
